The Alco would be great.  And the only thing you have to do to add sound is put a couple of pairs of sneakers in the dryer!

Looking at your layout again...  I'm liking the single-track thing.  Single track with long CP sidings would be interesting.  Plenty of fill and cut for scenic running.

Then again, the GG1 and Broadway Limited like look a little funny charging along a single-track main!

I like patch job units paired with either full CR repaints or patch jobs from other predecessor roads.  Wouldn't the patched ex-LV U23Bs be viable candidates?  As well as patched ex-CNJ SD35s and patched ex-RDG GP35s?

Please discuss! I think the plan is a little lacking also, but then again I'm not familiar with the NCR.

The clutter on the right side is chewing up prime scenery space.  The helix will be like having a fridge in the room at that location, and you completely lose the multi-purpose room effect of having a more true around the room design.

You also don't leave enough room to properly scenic the locations you've identified, or to leave an adequate amount of air between them.

Okay, sitting in a rather boring meeting today I had a traingasm picturing a high-nosed blue GP9 running long-hood forward over that Codorus Creek bridge between Emigsville and York with a cylindrical hopper and a string of boxcars in tow...  It's summer, and though the track is in good shape and well ballasted, the trees form an almost tunnel on either side of the bridge.  The train is moving slowly and the cars are rocking ever so slightly.

They're MicroTrains, so the car sills are about 12' above the railhead and are slinky-ing... ;D  Just kidding, Joe!
