I thought I'd  Pimp My SD45-2 to a BNSF SD40-2R or whatever it's proper designation is
one of these:

Just think that there is a 13 channel DVD / 500 watt RMS stereo system in the cab ... oh and hydraulic suspension that moves up and down with the bass ;D ;D

And under all that thick paint was a lot of nice detail.

Also, our 15" Drop Grab Irons were recently re-done in smaller wire and they look AMAZING.  Of course, depending on the dealer stock you might get the old versions which are fine too, but FYI, the newest run really adds a nice touch...

I think this is the second time I have seen somebody remove the fans on this model and put on new fans. Is the IM model so wrong with the fans or is this a different phase being modeled?

This is not a "as built" model, it is a model of a rebuilt locomotive.

Where are these fans from? I'd like to replace the marshmellowey ones on my LL 38-2s (yes, I finally got a set...).

The IM fans are wrong for EL and many CR units (that didn't have all the low-profile fans replaced)... of course, the entire roof of the long hood is as well.
