you are correct, the last order uses SD60 style anticlimbers. Don't forget the recessed radiator fans.

Ok...  so how big a sin would it be (knowing also about those doors in the back) to use Atlas'
SD60 as a standin for the SD50 - realizing of course that the SD50 is incorrect as well.

Also, did CR's SD50's come with black walkways or blue (in the original canopener scheme). Most photos I see don't show the walkways.

Walkways were black as well as the nose top on most units.

Only you can answer that one... could you sleep at night knowing?

Previous order but shows the anticlimber detail:

No one is up in arms over Atlas's foobie SD50.... We know the trucks are wrong but few are aware the anti-clibmers are too.

I have some pictures of an SD50 with a 60 style anticlimber up front and a 50 style in the rear.

would it be worse than the anxiety of having a disproportionate number of SD60's???

Sounds like I may need Ambien....

Take a look through these:
http://thecrhs.org/?q=ConrailEquipment/Locomotives/EMD/SD50

Specifically, the enlargement of this http://thecrhs.org/?q=Images/CR-6716-at-Ashtabula-Ohio-9298

Looks black, right? But, if you look closely, you'll see that there's blue on the walkway too, which means they might not have been painted black, but just were black.

I know that personally, I tend to paint my walkways black because I think it looks better, but until someone produces a painting diagram, I'd hazard to say they were painted black.

I bet the black paint came in later orders....

Sounds like when you split the differences, the SD60 is as good a stand in for the late SD50's as the SD50 is for the early ones.

I think I can sleep with that...

So, anyone make a C39-8 yet???

You could use a SD60 side sill with the SD50. Atlas sells all the body parts separately.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

will Atlas's Flexcoil trucks from the SD7/9 & SD35 fit on a SD50/60? Kato's?
