Conrail bandwagon

i have decided to join the bandwagon and add some Conrail to my layout plans.  i'm having a difficult time finding models that fit my 1967 era in the correct paint schemes or at all.  i'll have Conrail as it was on the Panhandle in 1977, and it's surprising what a decade will change.  in less than 5 years the line would be downgraded and severed, but in 1977 it was still seeing heavy mainline traffic from St. Louis and Chicago.

i can't let Dave have all the fun.

If you like passenger trains, you could always do PC with their PRR, NYC, and NH mismatched trains.  Even early Conrail would be neat to do with Amtrak's early trains.  They were still running the Broadway and other names trains.  With the mix and match cars and engines, they were really quite wierd looking at times.  Remember a Florida southbound train at Alexandria, VA the first couple months of Amtrak with a Burlington E unit (one of the earlier E's) on front with 2 other E's (ACL) and at least cars from 6 different RR's in the consist.

Gotta ask why?  They do add a lot of interest to a layout.
