MT November

My November MT News arrived today.  Really nothing there for me.  My bank account grows monthly.  The PRR guys have a hopper in MOW yellow - not sure, is that prototypical?  The runner packs are DOD and US Army.  And of course, another warship on the side of a boxcar.  Sadly, MT is becoming the Tyco of N Scale.

The DODX flats look nice except I just painted a bunch up in this scheme...

But that crane - is that new tooling or what???  Looks like the Bachmann crane????

And what beans they are!  Nice KCS paintscheme on totally the wrong car!

But hey, they've GOT MY TWELVE DRUMMER TREE ORNAMENT, so I'm a happy camper!

And again, what's up with the crane??? Could it be??? It's the BACH-MAN's CRANE and crane tender car!!!!  Holy Magnematic Coupler Batman!!! Microtrains is RE-SELLING BACHMANN freight cars - in order to tool up CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS!

Hmmmm I have a Z scale 40' Chicago Great Western boxcar, wonder if it's a reprint or one of those modern looking thingies.

How hard would it be to re-stencil the DODX re-stencil so it looks like a TTX that hasn't been re-stenciled?
$22 a throw still seems kinda steep for any freight car to my weary eyes...

I'm a little surprised they didn't spread out those C&O cars in to a more prototypical collectors set...  They look pretty nice, and there's apparently an interesting story behind them, but all at once at $30+ a pop?  They gotta be out of their minds.

They're not restencilled TTX cars - at least the ones I've seen are complete paint jobs...

I also don't think they are the same color as TTX either...

Just checked Chuck's site to see the Z boxcar. That is the 3rd CGW boxcar they have done in Z. I think they did 3 or more NH boxcar as well.  While other roads get completely ignored. I know Joe is a SP guy, I wonder who the CGW and NH guys are at MT.

It's only money Lee.

The KCS is a good looking car. I saw on TrainBoard that KCS is repainting their wagontops back to the Reed/Yellow/Green heritage scheme. This will be hot selling car even though MTL used the wrong car style.
