So Intermountain has announced more cylindrical covered hoppers and again, CP cars in the mult-mark, but only the trough hatch version. For whatever reason, they will not do this paint scheme with the round hatches. Agghh!  >

There were hundreds, if not thousands in thet paintscheme with the round hatch. And yes, I've sent them pictures of these cars in both the CP Rail with the multimark and CP Rail without the multimark. Whatsuggathat?

Yeah, trivial I guess and I know I'm  :'(, but not all of us Canadians model grain trains in the Rockies or on the Prairies. There are alot of these is mineral and cement service, too. And granted, I see the trough cars in mineral service alongside the round hatch cars... but still, one release couldn't hurt.

Robbman, I think he's refering to the cylindrical with the round hatches, not the grain cars (though CP has used the round hatch cars in grain service). I've seen CP use the trough hatch cars in Nepheline Syenite service (sand like mineral). Also, CP cylindricals in cement service have a stenciled line on the side showing the limit for cement loading (though I doubt every car has the stencil).

Yeah but the hopper outlets at the bottom are the same on both cars. Which is the part he was referring to.

GU's main customer was a sand/gravel supplier. They went offline about 2 years ago. The company provided sand and cement aggragates to 3rd parties, though they didn't mix it on site.

No, I am sure these were PWRS - but from a long time ago - before 2001 for sure, since I've refused to buy anything from them since then!

Gates on the cylindrical cars "appear" to be the same on grain cars as they are on the cement cars.

I don't want to stir up a hornet's nest, but there were some differences (other than the round hatches) that precluded the grain car for being accurate for the round hatch version -- I think it was the length of the car, or cubic capacity -- Matt G may remember -- but I know PWRS asked for them, and we made them when I was at IRC -- after making sure he knew they weren't 100% correct.
