Yes John, a really nice difference there.  On the first photo, if you can get the front of the first unit in better focus, that would be a killer shot.

Agreed, Tom.  The Sony DSC-H2 has a whole lot of function, I need to sort thru all the options and learn to use it better.  I'm amazed so far what this camera will do on pure automatic.  Can only imagine what it will do with some more sophisticated exploitation of it's capabilities.

Mostly finished my 1979 DIMI Trains (yea, maybe I should have resold it for 200% profit) Leslie Rotary plow kit.  A few decisions need to be made before it's finalised and painted, but all major construction and mods are done.  And of course, it now has a tender from a bachmann 2-8-0.  I'll get a pic in here somewhere when I get a chance.

And... at this very moment, I'm narrow-guaging my Bachmann 4-4-0.  Ted Brandon - the reported Nn3 king - says this old model should be thrown away before even run on standard guage (I agree), let alone run on narrow guage track.  I'll let you know how it goes...

Just an update:  After some Loco mods were done, but prior to tender mods, I decided to do some testing.  As I suspected, many years of blatant abuse on this stupid 4-4-0 have damaged the motor brushes.  So...........  You get to see some kind of Motor Swap as well (maybe a Kato 105, but a newer bmann F9 drive unit is look better right now).  I don't promise a lot, or even a successful project.  I'll post whatever I end up with, though.

A long time friend of mine has done just that, converted the 4-4-0 to narrow gage.

Thanks to Richard Percy (of the excellent Espee Modellers site) who sent me a picture of the rear of the brake sled, I was able to correct the brake stand.



now I just need to add the light at this end and retouch the paint.

Nothing model train related for me lately.  I still need to finish up the basement so that benchwork can progress further. Should be buttoning  it up hopefully by July (beginning of my major model RR season)

I did however buy a new truck. I traded in the Jetta for an '07 Chevy 1500 Extended cab. Will make towing the speeder much easier. Its going back to the dealership on Wednesday for wash and wax, Line-X installed, and the plow prep package installed. Now I just need to sell my old truck so that I can buy a new trailer for the speeder!

only train related stuff was staring at the T8 fixtures @ Home Depot and Lowes (busy weekend homewise!).

previous threads on layout lighting convinced me to deal with the lighting before moving on with layout construction.

Nice work Lee,
I am working on the same roundhouse/turntable project.
Who made the turntable? I used the wallyworld turntable,
I haven't finished wiring it up yet or running trains over it yet
so I am not sure if it any good; I still have time to upgrade before
I finish the project, any feedback (and I know you are not short on that)
will be helpful.

The turn table is the new Walthers Built-up with motor and indexing.  It's not the old Cornerstone/warmed over Heljan table. 
It's very simple to wire and operate, just follow the directions carefully as to how to program the indexing.  It runs very smoothly, and looks good once you weather it in a bit.

I re-painted the pit because I didn't like the factory applied weathering.  I also darkened the walkways and painted some safety yellow on the hand rails.  The next project is adding some lights to it.

Very cool!  Didn't know that bridge was such THE scenic wonder of Warren, O.    I tried to add a photo of my version of the bridge (built years ago for a long gone layout) but couldn't get into photobucket.  Maybe later.
