That is a cool fix with outstanding results . IHC should offer this up as an option in their instructions .

Oh, if only IHC were still around.

I wonder what happen to the molds?  Those looked to me like they were made by Heljan.

Got my first Tortoise installed & tested!

By the way, the next one will be wired with AWG Cat5E wire  rather than individual wires.

Yeah, and if someone would start another run of the kits..   I wonder if @ncbqguy has any knowledge about the whereabouts of those molds. He seems to have lots of inside info about the model RR industry.

I just saw on the box that it was "Made in Denmark", so yeah, almost certainly Heljan, right?

I think that despite the PIA they can be to paint, this is what makes DPM kits so reliably good looking.  The wood frame windows sit BEHIND the brick.



The "inside out" install will only work if you also put them in upside down, so the top sash is to the outside.  You can add the sill and a lintel with some strip styrene and a little patience.
