Great to see the really cool COER "Pig Hogger" trailers get some love.
Having grown up in southern Illinois, I recall seeing these trailers (there were more than 350 of them) scattered around the area.
While I missed the end of steam on the COER, I later helped operate the revived "Marion Santa Train" passenger service in 2010 and 2011, so the
railroad has a soft spot for me. Now part of the Progressive Rail family, the Crab Orchard and Egyptian soldiers on in relative obscurity today.
A good friend of mine who is the local Transportation Manager for the COER/PGR, has also assumed the role of defacto company historian. I hit him up for some info about the
trailers, and got the ORIGINAL artwork for them. This information will only work for trailers SCOZ 202200-202549, which are Fruehauf 40' Z-vans.
This should help Micro Trains hop over the artwork hurdle for these trailers.
@Shipsure - please let me know if you have any other questions, and my friend would also like to review the final artwork before production.
Hopefully this will help this project along.
COER also had 25 of these really rad RED 100T 3 bay cars that are just close enough to the Micro Trains N&W hopper...
