I will give a testimonial. They are excellent! I first used a model 7800 (it was bright red in those days) in the late seventies where I worked and used it until they closed the factory in 2002. We used to go out on the line and make fairly heavy solder connections with them and a charge lasted a long time.
In all those years, I believe I only replaced the ni-cad battery twice. The 7800 recharges in an hour and it really does. The needle tips were wonderful for surface mount components.
