I'm disappointed. I thought the preproduction photos showed the original turbocharger stack and a single beam headlights. Good price, but I have lots of Atlas units.

Are we actually "reviewing" a product by internet pictures alone?????

The initial thread was started after I completed some research on the Pennsy release. It was never intended to be a review as such but a report on the observations I have made with a further report after I have received a unit for testing. There were reports on a number of forums that the release of the RS3 had been delayed  and then within a day or two they started to appear on eBay and then MB Klien.

My current observations of the model are only computer generated visuals there are few points I would make about the PRR model.

I started the report with the above quote. and finished it with:

The final appraisal can only be given when I have a bird in my hand.

So while I do not believe it is a review it is a report on my observations of the Pennsy model as I do not profess to have any knowledge of the rights and wrongs of the other road models being released. If it performs as good as the GP7 model I have from Bachmann I will be happy. Until I get to run one and test I will not comment on performance.

I might pick up one frm Klein's this weekend. 

Has anyone heard any more rumors that Bachmen is going to release an E33?  Know I'fe read this several places the past years.

I suppose it will be delivered behind a PCM PRR M1a.

Hi Bob,

I would like to hear how yours runs. I am still only thinking as it is a long way from the US to Australia and just as long to send it back. I am very tempted but with the number of Atlas/ Kato units I have I ask do I need any more. I suspect that I will be casting a lot of the headlights and turning them up the right way and I have a diesel horn set with appropriate bracket just about finished to be sent to the brass caster. There are a few other things to be done, especially doing the end with the single headlight and so on.

As far as PCM is concerned well the least said the better.

Bad in the sense that if had been cropped to just the cab and short hood, I wouldn't have been sure what I was looking at.



It's like an ALCo and a Baldwin had a baby.
