Whilst y'all are in Chicago, head out to Wheaton to check out the First Division Museum; especially take in the WWII LCVP that I helped to restore.

Iain, that's pretty cool as I live only a few miles from Cantigny and have been there several times. I still love to crawl all over the tanks on the museum grounds. It is indeed worth a visit. They also have impressive gardens to see!

With all this jewelry rattling around, I almost forgot to commend Drew on his outstanding paint out...  The only suggestion would be to have faded the yellow before adding the grime.  Otherwise, it's just like I remember!

Hehe, thanks! I'd give it a try now, but it might be a bit late in the process. (it might have been 3 years ago that it got painted out?)

Worked on this project today.  I picked up a MILW NW2 pretty cheap this past week at the local hobby store and instead of leaving it alone, I decided to backdate the paint job.  The Milwaukee started repainting their switchers into coach colors (orange, maroon, and grey) in July of 1942 and this was one of the first units that was re-painted.

I'm waiting on the decoder to come in the mail and it should be all done.  I only had a black and white photo to work from so I had to make an educated guess on a couple of the colors.  The exhaust stacks may be wrong, but that is an easy fix.
