David,  Very sorry that these did not work out. Not sure why. Bowser had marketed niche diesels for some time (Alco's Baldwins) and it looks like they manage to make it work-Perhaps more HO'ers are interested in these that N scalers-Maybe N scalers want mostly more modern diesels? I am sure manufacturers have some survey data, but they probably would not share it. Looks like Arnold had trouble moving their U25C as well-I was hoping that would lead to a U33C an U36C but I guess that won't happen either.
I will look into placing orders for FUD shells after the holidays. The Hi Adhesion truck frames are great!!!

Because they are kits.  There are a number of modelers still around that would do kits, but probably not enough interested in a fairly niche locomotive.

Make it ready to run and you have a much bigger audience.

Tooling alone is out of the question. It would be 100 grand blown just for that alone.

Yep.  Although it worked for Bowser. They've gotten several runs of C-630's, 636's and MLW's as well.  But HO is a different animal.

I ordered 6 of David's M636's.  If Atlas or someone were to do a RTR I'd order about the same but I think I'm atypical.

Atlas has a RTR "M630" coming but it's a foob - a C360 in M630 paint.  I didn't order one.

Jeff Briggs of Briggs models made an M630 shell for the Atlas C630 chassis as well as the correct Dofasco trucks. I bought a bunch to use as both M630's and to modify to M636's. M&E Alco modified one (I think) to an M636.

I'm was going to order some M636's but have to wait to see what the finances would be like for 2018 first. Too bad these are canceled, but I understand the reason... business is what it is.

Those were/are on my "round tuit" list, assuming they are still available when I get around to it.  But the LAL/WNYP system only has one M630 ( they also have a C630m which is not the same thing) and I'm not sure that I'm up to modifying a cast resin shell for the M636 changes.

Is the Briggs site or the Central hobbies site preferred for ordering?

On another note, if there are any people out there who really, really want an M636 and are willing to to put out some $$$. PM me there may be a solution.  But it ain't cheap.  Let's just table that notion.

Can we muster enough incentive for Jeff Briggs to do one?

Central Hobbies Briggs Models M630 page http://central-hobbies.com/products/briggsmodels.html

They're not listed on his website, must only be available through Central Hobbies.
