I'm going to pre order one for Penncentral, however I have a question there's 3 brake types, manual, rachet and wheel. Which one would be accurate for PC?

For PC a wheel brake would be most appropriate. There are two options, not three. I do see how you might be confused there.

I've updated the cost on these kits. The cost is now $80 for the C636 and $100 for the M636, $20 below the original costs. I am able to do this because I found a new supply chain that is able to maintain the same quality but keep the costs down. In addition, the minimum run has been dropped to 50 units because the minimums are lower for this supplier... the minimum at this point is really motivated by my design costs.

I have already refunded $20 per kit to customers who have already ordered...

Orders have been going pretty well on these, so I expect to begin production soon. Please make sure to order yours if you haven't so that there isn't a delay.

Please see the message I posted here: http://www.cescalemodels.com/

If you still want one they will be available through shapeways in a bit here. If you haven't received notice of a refund yet, please hang tight, we're still working the financial side of this.

Very sorry to hear this, David.  You did a lot of good work on these.  I was really looking forward to getting the kits.

Did you finish the design work on the M636?  Will the shell at Shapeways be of the same quality which would have come from your kit? I was under the impression you had a different shop for the 3D printing.

If you're selling the etchings for the M636 I"ll be sending you an email as directed on your web page.

I did not finish the design or even get close on the M636. The shells from shapeways (which I just put up) will be at FUD/FXD/BHDA quality - I wish I could use the process that I wanted to from the shop I found but that's not possible at this point.

Shoot me an email - I'll need several folks to so I can justify a full sheet.

Shell (http://shpws.me/Pibk) - I'm not confident it'll work in BHDA but it should in FXD.

Well, frack.  I don't need an C636's.  It's the M636 that WNY&P have.  All either Cartier or CN heritage.  They had two of the C636 ALCo demonstrators but they came so severely damaged from the Susquehanna that they never used them.

I will assume that if the M636 shells didn't get finished then the etchings didn't either.

I received my refund notice as well.  Even though I don't NEED a C636, it would have been nice to have one, as a souvenir of Pasco and the SP&S.  At least I won't have to find an old C630!

But it is good to see a company that's so prompt about refunds.  Too many times one has to wait, and wait, and wait, and maybe complain a few times, then wait...
