Model Railway Journal from the newsstand.  "Not my prototype" but they're mostly doers and I like that.  Gave up on N.A. pubs when the ones I took disappeared. Outside of the gazette, most of what is left is SKU based and I'm after something more basic/foundational.

I read Model Railroader and N-scale, both in print. I also subscribe to the MR's Video plus and Model Railroad hobbyist.

I don't buy any .Members at our club bring in most of the books and mags and I read them there.
Our club is Z-scale N_ scale HO and G -scale  we have rail or modules of all scales running trains.

No subs,mags are an excuse to go to the LHS.I am a multi-scaler so I have a wider interest in my reading than some folks.The mags I buy in no particular order are below.

I used to feel this way, but a move to over 40 miles from the LHS, and $3-4 per gallon on gas has changed my mind.  Now, I plan any trip to the LHS around being in that area anyway for other reasons.  All of a sudden, that (or those) $5 magazines costs me another $12-16 in gas!  At the same time, the sub rate is usually at $4 per magazine, delivered right to my door.

Add in the newish problem of most LHS only ordering N scale on a pre-order basis, and really, the eye candy factor seems to be getting less and less for me.  And maybe I am just a bit old and jaded.......

OT< but wondering if gas prices have altered anyone else's pattern of buying?  Perhaps it should be a different topic.......

I subscribe to Model Railroader, Classic Trains, N-Scale, N Scale Railroading, N Scale Enthusiast, and Model Railroad Hobbyist (digital). Once in a blue moon I'll pick up a copy of Trains, RMC, or other related magazine if it has an article that interests me...
