I really like your stuff and for my 1975 Southern modeling I purchased some of your last run mid life cars. I always forget about the Fine N Scale stuff. And at retail they are less expensive than the Athearn cars. I dont like to buy new for something I could very well end up trashing with my less than stellar kitbashing.   

About the lack of demand, if there is no(or obscure) product how can there be demand for it? I know you have expounded on it relentlessly. But for a railroad that had one of the longest lasting wooden boxcar fleets and one that didnt buy metal cars until 1941 I suspect those wooden cars lasted quite a while. But they were one of the only major ones that ran them so long. I know your writings on this topic  so I understand and I am following your gondola production thread with great interest.

In general, there is little demand for early 20th century equipment.  Manufacturers have offered models from this era in the past, but there are only a few of these models that remain available.  I understand the reluctance to chop up new models, but the only way to get most of the esoteric pieces you want is to kitbash or scratchbuilt them.  And it is easier to start with an existing model than start from scratch.  So the FNS kits are the best starting point to kitbash the New Haven cars from the 1920s and 1930s.
