Look like they are tooling up for three different AC shells and two cabs. Hopefully the get the truck right and have multiple releases like the ACE but with different roads instead of UP Heritage model.

Kato releases something useful to me every two or three years maybe.

I lost track of that one. Those SD40-2s they did recently are too new for a 1975-1985 timeframe.

The NS Coalporters are FOOBs right?

Are the CSX coalporters FOOBs too?9

If they just do new numbers on the schemes from the last run...

The NS coalporters will be complete foobs if the put G83 numbers on them like they did on half the cars on the last run.

NS and CSXs aluminum Coalporters are the lower capacity 'eastern' version.  Basically lower height than the 'western' versions, and they have high-mounted brake wheels.


However, I suspect Kato is going to put the schemes from the newer hybrid (stainless steel, aluminum, high-carbon stainless steel) FCA Coalporters that NS and CSX have... which are slightly closer to the 'western' car.  Will be interesting to see how they do the unpainted NS cars, and how they represent the line of rivets going across the car... and hopefully they won't do the G109 prototype classes.
