I agree and will probably pick up one SP car... it's in my era. Could the Exactrail car not be used as a good starting point to bash that Conrail gon?

I think the sides are w ee bit too tall on the ER car, but otherwise, you are correct it may be agood starting place.

I'll probably pickup a couple of the ICG ones just for effect.  Add them to the Bluford 86 foot autoparts cars and a few others I have laying around for an all ICG consist to run on Lee's revamped WM one of these days!

Might need the frame stretcher too, the CR one looks longer (12 panels vs 10 on the ER car).

Definitely not a good starting point for the PRR/PC/CR gon. 

If it's determined that some of the prototype still had their placards circa 1980, I'll pick up an SP.  I don't mind seeing this car since it is 100% prototypical for the one road.  It's nice to have some equipment on the roster that is unique and/or a signature design to one road (a la the G26 mill gon and XIH boxcar).
