Have you guys priced the Preiser/ Mertan figures lately? With the Euro up and the dollar down and the VAT and the tariffs on European toys, they're up to about $20 for a set of 5 or 6 figures. Ouch! :-X

Sounds like another vote for Model Power...
Occasionally you can find a set of unpainted Preisers on the 'bay going for about $20-30 dollars.  I don't remember how many figures you get, but it's a bunch.

Apparently N Scale supply has them in stock:

Don't know if those are actual pix though. Anyone seen them in the stores?

Purchased the entire set minus Billy Brown's coup & the Family Vacation wagon at MBK's this past weekend. IMHO those two didn't have enough detail, figures or extra parts to justify the price (BLW does have a decent price for all 6) . The cars scale nicely when placed next to CMW Mini Metal or Athearn vehicles. The paint, molding/trim, chrome bumpers & wheels/hub caps are all on par if not better than CMW products.  The open doors on one vehicle show some interior seat detail as well. If time permits later tonight, I can post some photos.
