First time in a long time that a New York Central steamer moved over home rails! Can't wait to see FWHS start to make progress on bringing her back to life, truly an incredible time to be a railfan from New York!
Check out my YouTube Channel youtube.com/@NScaleTrainBoy and the B&CCS at bccsrailroad.weebly.com!

Big steam doesn't look as big as it used to when paired with today's diesels.

Didn't NYC have some size limiting clearance issues??

Since we've never really seen an NYC steam locomotive 'out in the wild'.. It's size maybe a bit more 'compact' than we are used to seeing compared to 765, 611 or 844

Maximum height of NYC 3001 is about 15' versus about 16' for NS 1066 (and the 765, 611 and 844).

"Didn't NYC have some size limiting clearance issues?"

True, but even the "big" steam doesn't look as big compared to today's road power as it did with the first-generation diesels.  Neither do the early diesels!
