Kato Broadway Ltd passenger car set original

Hi
I have the original boxed set of the Kato Broadway limited that includes the cafe/lounge car that has the special sliding coupler. It fell on the floor and the coupler broke.
Kato has no replacement for it. What kind of adhesive would I use to join that type of plastic?

Are you talking about the "draw bar" that goes between the cars on the articulated kitchen/diner?

I called Kato USA directly and they told me they had no stock,

Unfortunate on two counts, one that you called and they said they had none, and two - the website lists it as in stock (I was able to add it to my cart).

I can’t recall how thick that part is, but I would epoxy the ends, let that set, drill two 0.4mm holes either through the side or from the top about 1.5mm away from the break. Thread brass wire in a loop through both holes pulling it tight. Fold the ends toward each other and trim them off. Bend them side by side to each other, add a drop of flux and an instant touch of the soldering iron having a drop of solder to flow.

If possible I would use soldering iron with a fine tip and weld the pieces together. No glue I know of will joint those pieces together with enough strength. I have done such welding in the past, but it does take some  practice to be able to do this correctly.

I usually find a way to hold the  parts steady then using the fine tip first poke the tip slightly into the line of the break. then use the sides of the tip like a putty knife to smooth the joint. If needed, I then repeat the process after the part ifs flipped around.

she was built in the original PRR Order in 49' , she was assigned to the SoSTL and she filled in on the BL as needed

she's a perfect match and goes in front of the double diner (vestibule rear) in cases where it was assigned for more than 2 weeks...  if it was assigned less than 2 weeks it went on behind the Regal through car
