2026 JAM convention

Again a report in JAM* convention held in Tokyo, Japan this weekend as well as the last year.
(* Japan Association of Model railroading)

Mr. Tohnishi showed his new French engines being full brass scratched:
1)   4-4-6 Steam engine, Blue one
2)   0-8-8-0 Steam generated electric engine, Red one
They are analog type and 0-8-8-0 runs very smoothly but 4-4-6 needs more adjustments.

Have attached some pictures of the above and Mr. Tohnishi.
Thank you.

Ryoichi Fukushima

For the steam-generated electrics:

This is the first time I've ever heard of someone modeling these, much less seen a picture of the model.

Thanks for the photos Ryoichi.  Those are beautiful models!

What modular system is that layout?  It looks like a Japanese version of T-TRAK, but it does not use Kato Unitrack.

Makes me think Jules Verne for some reason. Really neat models and prototype.

I would like to attach two movies of the engines, but they are too large to do it in this forum.
Does anyone give me nice ideas?   Ryoichi

Upload to YouTube and then post link here.  I would love to see movies of the engines.

peteski,

Just received response by Mr. Tohnishi as follows:

That is not T-track and it was designed/fabricated by himself without any standards.
He employed rails of PIKO Fine and Code-55 of Micro-Engineering. But the Code-55 rail (spike) unfortunately interferes w/ high flange wheels.

Is this OK?  Ryoichi

Yes, thank you Ryoichi-san.

I thought that Mr. Tohnishi was running his models on some club layout at the JAM convention. I did not realize that it was hos own modular layout.
