I am curious, I saw several Railwire members, IIRC, playing with 3D printing ties for tracklaying.
With Central Valley N Scale Code 55 tie strips back in production, https://www.cvmw.com/cvt.htm I guess a need was already fulfilled...
Ties for turnouts and crossings are the least difficult item building either of those two items. If you can't build the ties how are you going to build the frogs and points?
I think he's referring to the availability of self-gauging ties with tie plate detail. Central Valley is making regular track ties that way.
Dave, sorry you have lost me. CV is making flexible curve-able longish strips of self gauging ties with tie plate detail. Please check the link https://www.cvmw.com/cvt.htm It appears that the company is under new management now...
Dave;We are probably saying the same thing but with a different focus. Back on Page 3 of this thread, sirenworks was asking for 3d strips to lay curves, that was his concern. Not turnouts or crossings. His original question is what i have tried to answer. Now with thread drift...FWIW, I thought CV was lout of business and the flexible tie strips were no more. Looks like they are back. They are now doing turnout strips and kits for HO, maybe one day they will do N.Cheers,Bill
