OK, maybe this is just about turning Kato cars into P70s but I thought the PRR did have some smoothside coaches they bought from the UP and repainted. Ones just like the Kato coach.

Not that I am aware of and I have found no examples of this after a search.  However, the CNJ bought a bunch of similar smoothside coaches from the GN in the 1970s to shore up their commuter service roster.  Most of these remained in Empire Builder Orange and Green or Big Sky Blue for a significant amount of time while in CNJ commuter service.  Hence the "Jersey Builder" nickname.  I think they were later painted black.

The CNJ cars also came in BN green and white, with either GN or BN lettering.  These were the original BN "hockey stick" scheme, but the CNJ shops painted out the angled portion and extended the white stripe to the end.  Looking at pictures, they did a very good job of it, with many showing little evidence of the painted-over stripe or names/heralds.

As it happens, I'm awash in a sea of Pennsy passenger equipment already...and will be pre-ordering the new BLI PB70 and Z74D. I still have a pair of Centralia P85brs, a host of P70s, Pullmans, front-end cars, and a full Fleet of Modernism train. And I went ahead and bought back a 10-car Kato Broadway Limited set. Because of course I did. That set screams for a pair of BLI E8s, the funding for which will be obtained through more excess HOn3 liquidation.

I tend to over-do things I guess.

Those Kato kitbashes are really sweet, but until I have a basement-filling 4-track main, I should probably admire from afar rather than follow suit.
