My understanding is that the stripes appeared roughly in the fall of 1947.

Well, here’s something to make those B70’s just a little less foob…

The PRR truck class 3C-P1 used on almost every B70 on their roster. Requires minor surgery to shorten the center beam of the underbody.

Isn't that the same truck that came on the old Lima/AHM PRR heavyweights?

Sure, if you want to compare out of scale 1960’s era trucks to these. Mine were deigned atop PRR dimensioned diagrams, and compared visually to prototype images with a bolster specifically designed for the MT baggage car.

Those are ESM 33” wheels for now. Waiting on a new batch of 0.540” x 36 for my fast mail set. The truck is designed for those 36” wheels.

Here is another MT PRR foob MOW set that is actually more of a kit, which was fun to build. Plus it fits in well with the layout’s catenary.  I knew I had to get my hands on one for the layout when it came out last year.

@Dave V What you might not have noticed is the Bachmann GG1 panto on the rider car.  I wanted to be able to pose the panto or lock it down and the Bachmann version allows both.

Love that! I may do the same whenever I get to it. I need some catenary first!
