Listening to the World Cup so might's well give a quick update while the Netherlands runs roughshod over Sweden..I did some paint stripping for a new car redecoration project: This was a perfectly good Z scale MTL ICG bulkhead flatcar, stripped with Scalecoat Wash Away. It's destined to be a CN car.I am testing out utility pole options for East Norwood's power needs. For the poles themselves, I 3D printed the crossarms, and attached to a 1mm diameter steel rod & painted. The wire is AK High Elastic Stretch rigging "Mega Thin" (AK 9134). Very flexible spandex cord.
Trying to get one of the Showcase Miniatures "MadAboutCars" GM Silversides finished in time for the NSE Convention, as well as a pair of my own Scenicruisers.
I also retrofitted my Prairie Shadows gondolas with printed washers and bushings to prevent the wheels from rubbing on the underframe and causing derailments.... I then took the gondolas for a test run over the Dawson Creek Subdivision:
^^ love the Trex roadbed Ed
Are you using crumpled aluminum foil to hold the models? Those look excellent, as usual.
Good progress Tim. Are the gons performing well now?
