Somewhere Rapido mentioned that the Metra SD70s are the most popular scheme. I find that kind of surprising, but it is the only scheme I reserved. Now I'll have to add this one to my reservation, it is a beauty.

I've been quietly buying HO equipment, mostly Rapido, to test the waters. I'm loving those M420's, have a pair of M-630's in the mail. One thing I've noted it that HO is ridiculously big... like clown shoes big. Maybe I've been an n scaler for too long (1984), but I cannot understand how HO is so popular. I have a large space that will yield a decent railroad in N yet a mere trainset in HO.

I think N is the best scale, hands down, but HO essentially has all the equipment I want... I mean two MLW C-424's announced simultaneously 

Rapido has tons of HO stuff, but so little in N I wonder if they'll eventually drop the scale. What disappoints me is they're doing lots of New Haven equipment in HO -- especially passenger equipment -- but only a few in N. I know that the NHRT&HA has been subsidizing the HO stuff, and I wonder what their N scale members think of that. Latest astonishment is an HO Roger Williams, an horribly-conceived "modern" prototype that was a huge NH failure. There are expected to have lots of customers for that?
Of course, it's because N scalers are such whiners about Rapido that they get ignored.

Rapido seems very committed to N scale. They've probably announced more new N scale tooling in the past couple of years than anybody else.

The running theory (more of a joke) is that once Jason has produced all the models he need for his HO CN Kingston Sub layout, they'll start doing N scale in earnest.

That seems correct. I have to thank them (and I have with purchases) for the barrel ore cars, Procor 5820 pellet covered hoppers, Procor GP20 tank car. And while not too common in Ontario, the Flexi-Flo covered hoppers would show up from time to time, so I sampled a few.

They really need to get those M420's and SW1200RS's and RS-18's and GP9RM's over to N scale.

And the GP40TC and single level commuters cars!

Not to hijack but I guess nudge the drift, Rapido CF7's in N scale would be welcomed.

I'm patiently awaiting the Chicago elevated consists. Still trying to figure out how to incorporate them but may need another layout (a small one for sure). Fingers crossed that they provide the elevated track in N also. 

I've been pleased with the limited Rapido offerings that I have. The only issue was the battery powered caboose lighting. However, they've come to their senses with the latest run.

I was very tempted by these in HO. I need one in N scale about as much as HO... but would probably grab one because I enjoy beautiful things.

I'd probably grab whatever they offer in G&W orange, in N scale
