Continuing to progress the TOFC fleet with decals and now weathering. They are getting close to completion.

https://data.transportation.gov/Railroads/Railroad-Company-and-Organization-List/rx2s-7tqf

Their database starts January 1, 1975. If the V&O had ceased operations before then they won't show up.

Unexpected day off of work so I set off to finish a few projects, or try to anyways.  I almost finished a set of Reading FTs, still need the upper pinstripe and seal everything up, reinstall glass etc.

Last weekend I ripped out a problematic turnout. Over the course of the week I was able to install and test the new one. Still needs paint, but it's functional and a major upgrade from the old one.

A little late. Another Thrall 53' 3-unit painted and finished.  Everything printed except wheels and couplers. I'm warming to the printed railings and walkways.  They are delicate but no more so than bent etches, and they can be glued on again.

I guess one could dig up a stack of old ORERs 😁

Those look great, Scott! How is the (empty) weight on those?

They are pretty light, 20 g each with the brass strip on the well walls.  With containers, they run well and I could always add some weight to the cans if I need to.  So far no issues but I only run them as unit trains in one direction.

I found this in a list of AAR reporting marks.  Different road, or typo?
VO         VIRGINA & OHIO

Besides, we know the Virginian & Ohio existed.  True it was (very) narrow gauge, but does that make an N scale model of a V&O car any less prototypical?  There would be a prototype (original) for it.
