Replaced the 50T Bettendorf trucks on my Helium Tank car with Bowser 70T Crown trucks.  Still not accurate (the prototype had 100T trucks with outside brake beams), but closer!

It took me 3 years (!) get get the round tuit that let me upgrade the trucks.   Looks much better to me now.

I used some old Model Die Casting trucks from my parts box and swapped the wheelsets with 36" wheels on my Helium cars.  They are not accurate, but are also an improvement over the proverbial 50T Bettendorf truck.

The Bowser trucks do look good on them, but it's hard to beat cheap crap that I already have in my parts box

If you're talking about the MDC roller bearing trucks, with the raised ring on top of the bolster, I've used those as 100-ton trucks for years.  As you said, not perfect, but until true 100-ton trucks were available, they at least filled the visual space. 

With 36 inch wheels, shave that ring off, and the car will sit at the same height as it did with 33 inch wheels.  And the trucks are just a little shorter than true 100-ton trucks, so will fit models where the full-size trucks won't.

I also completed all of the track bus, auxiliary bus and turnout control wiring for my wye project:




It is now ready to power up and test turnout control, track polarity and then with a locomotive.

It was a warm and sunny Saturday here in Osaka, Japan.
Let me share with you another cut from my N-scale Cisco, Utah diorama: the highway crossing.

A highway crossing within the Cisco townsite, which was verified in the 1919 ICC Valuation Map, survived well into the 1970s.
However, it's gone unnoticed, maybe to avoid blocking the siding.

It’s “Runthrough Saturday”!  A Union Pacific U28C on the Seaboard Coast Line northbound to Richmond, Va. in early 1972.  Runthrough power from the UP, SLSF (Frisco), and even the Southern Pacific to Hamlet, N.C. was not unusual, and, occasionally, this power would be used on mainline trains from Hamlet to Richmond and back.

I picked one of these up at Timonium because I discovered they were what the mill just outside York on the NCR shipped in. I went GACX because it was generic.

However, after I started looking at prototype photos I found that all of the ones I found were also wearing Railroad logos with the GACX reporting marks. Well, a quick look at my decal stash yielded these. I couldn't find photos of the specific number so you can't prove it didn't happen.

BTW, if anyone has a line on the big CON AGRA logo cars, let me know.
