MTL cars were designed and produced with body mounted couplers. Some of the artwork used for advertising shows a body mounted truck as this was reused from their Z Scale model that uses a standard truck mounted coupler.
I just checked mine - all 8 are body mounts. If you're just looking through the box without taking them out, they do look truck mounted. I can see where someone would easily make that mistake.
Ok, that makes sense, but I believe Glenn from the post above yours says he has one with truck-mounts. Glenn?? And I'm talking about the N scale cars.I read the question wrong. I have the first car and it has body mounted couplers. Sorry for the confusion.

I should look. I believe Micro Train walkways were plastic and the Athearn/MDC had medal walkway. Bolsters pin?
