Searching for information to design my tank car model, I came across this excelent UTLX site with nice graphics and descriptions.  There is a lot of detailed information here for those interested.

Cool find.  I love this line: "The mating edges of the two innermost rings are precisely cut to give the tank a ¼” per foot slope to the middle for Union Tank Car’s celebrated Funnel Flow®."  Every time I see the word 'celebrated' used in this context I picture some engineers having a party.  Now I can ask AI to bring that image to life:

Anyone know of a resource for prototype/scale drawings for the Atlas 17.6k corn syrup tank car?   (I've looked thru some of the online magazine search index sites, but that was some time ago and came up empty).
