The Greenville and Western has pulled past the connection switch between their tracks and the Pickens' Belton branch (which goes all the way to the outskirts of Honea Path). The Pickens' Belton Job is now pulling past them onto the GRLW's trackage. From here, the GRLW will couple up to the other end of the train and pull all the cars back past their switch on their tracks. The Pickens power will then head into the yard, grab their interchange bound for Norfolk Southern or their customers, and then pull back onto the connecting track. The GRLW will then back down and drop a few cars the Pickens is going to take back for Norfolk Southern. They'll pull back clear, then the Pickens will couple up and head back to their home rails and eventually Anderson and their connection with Norfolk Southern. GRLW will then pull back and pick up their conductor, then will head out to their CSX interchange up in Pelzer.

Is 9500 more or less dirty than the GP16’s were? Part of why I wanted to get this trip today was I think they’re starting to be on borrowed time. Pickens has a couple B40-8Bs from CSX and just got a GP35 rebuild from Great Smoky Mountain RR. We shall see how much longer these guys hold on.

Much much more.  Though at any given time the 3 YorkRail had could be clean after a good power washing or coated in grease/oil.  There wasn't much in between it seemed

I resumed the long stalled New Haven I-5 project now that technology has advanced sufficiently. The DLP printing process has enough fineness to abandon my original plans of an etched brass wrapper around a plastic or resin core (as I did for the EP-3 electric) and incorporate the full relief in a resin body. The release of the Bachmann J3a also provides me a viable mechanism that requires no alterations to the mechanism. I’ve also been experimenting with print angles and have one that minimizes visible stepping and layer lines. This model is my first with rotating the model 13.8 degrees on both the X and Y planes. I’m very pleased with the initial results. This body is one of the first prints, with a coat of Mr Surfacer 1500 black primer, test fit on the Bachmann tender chassis.

Working on upgrading power for my old GP’s.








These were old NIB on Super Secret Clearance when I got them.  They need cleaning all of the factory grease out, properly, lightly lubed, and check all electrical contact points.

Then they need to be broken in and speed matched.
