Grab shot of yesterday's westbound #40 Floridian at Great Cacapon, WV.

My stepdaughter was on the train headed to see some college chums, and she alerted me when they crossed the river at Harper's Ferry.

I've been waiting for this all week!

You guys get the one that RailPictures didn't like.

This video has a brief catch of the morning photo freight but, more excitingly, a bunch of interior views of their one of a kind M-1.

It's clearly side-lit and clearly not up to RP standards. (/s for the humor impaired.)

What's funny is that the screener took this over that: https://www.railpictures.net/photo/892755/

I guess I could've cropped it a little better, but still. Weird.

Oh well, it's what makes getting something in there feel like an accomplishment.

Really nice video, Squidward.  When they do the Winter Spectacular, count me in.

I bet they'll be crossing the Pogue Bridge by next summer.

Did some reading up on the M1.  Not only is it the only surviving Narrow Guage 'bug, it's the only surviving car sporting its original power plant.  Most of them were converted to diesel after a gasoline mishap somewhere that cost a motorman his mortal coil...

Was heading to work and caught L137 from afar down Rt 30, so I cut off from my main task of going to work, and arrived a few minutes later.  There was a 4 legged railfan behind me, excited as I was to see the train today

Sweet! Will do.

I bet they'll be crossing the Pogue Bridge by next summer.

I wouldn't be surprised. The work is out to bid right now.

Haha, yeah. The video did not capture the smell of the thing. It wasn't terrible, but it was definitely an experience. I highly recommend riding in it if you have the chance at some point.

I don't think I can say it enough: The EBT is a goddamned treasure.

One of these days, I will get up there.  It’s not far enough from home for me to have a reasonable excuse not to see it in person.
