Removing glue without damaging paint?

I picked up some GTW GP38s for a decent price, but discovered that someone had glued on the handrails.. (and didn't do the best job of it)..

It's not obvious from a distance, but it's noticeable enough to annoy me.

Is there anything I can do to remove the glue without damaging the paint?

Maybe by some miracle they used PVA (white glue/like Microscale Krystal Klear).. try soaking a joint with some water, maybe a little ISO alcohol if it turns white, you're in luck.  if not, it might be a tough one.

Are you going to repaint it?  If so--the bath of paint dissolver usually loosens such joints.

Finally, you might be able to find a replacement set of handrails and then just carve off the old ones/clean up/redrill mounting holes.

I believe for CA joints the bond can be broken by freezing. No harm done if you pop the shell in the freezer.

If the glue is clear and just has a different sheen perhaps an overcoat of clear flat will make it disappear.
My go to for rattle can flat is Mr. Hobby Super Clear Matt.

I'll probably try the freezer trick.. and if that doesn't work.. I think dullcoat would hide it fairly well.
