Very interesting news on the Blog on Con-Cor's website, including a poll of what to re-run first.

https://concortrains.com/blogs/news/what-s-missing-the-story-behind-unlisted-products-at-con-cor

I voted Galloping Goose

Isn't the goal to have things made in USA?
This all seems fishy to me, but if it is for real, and they can pull it off - the more power to them.

Interesting.    I've heard (from local grapevine) that the one of the reasons ConCor relocated here to Tucson in the first place was to hire inexpensive labor.  I'm guessing that the current environment makes it easier to just do the work in Mexico.

I cast a vote for the M10000. Used ones have been going for more than a grand on the auction site.

How long has Con Cor been irrelevant to N scale now? 20 years? 30?

Maybe they could retool the 2-10-2 to proper proportions and fix the drawbar/electrical scheme?

I wonder how they got their tooling out of China? I thought that that was (supposedly) next to impossible.

Their last noteworthy release in N scale was the M-10000 in 2009, so it's been a while.

They have a great lineup of 'basic' easy to assemble freight cars, so they could position themselves as a low cost 'value' brand in the HO and N scale market..

But I'm afraid they will have the Bachmann mindset and price all of their products at premium prices.

They did have some decent products that could be found on the street for decent prices.

I’d be curious to see the quality control from Mexico vs China. Both countries used to have some spotty quality but have gotten much better.

I really wouldn’t mind getting some scullen disc locomotives again

Bringing Back the Classics

We’re preparing to reintroduce some of Con-Cor’s most iconic collectible locomotives, including the Galloping Goose, Aero Train, M-10000, and the Burlington Zephyr.

I'd go for the Goose and M-10000 even if they didn't run much better as long as they weren't anywhere near what they are going for on eBay.

You get the quality you are willing to pay for and manage for; the country is where the work is done is irrelevant.  Craftsmen are everywhere - so are hacks.
When Con-Cor did decorating in house their quality was sometimes quite poor, and other times very nicely done.

I've long thought that situation was a contractual one, not a legal one.

I have no real reason to believe that, but I do.
