@trainforfun — Imitation aluminum lines. No, it’s a full decal wrapper over the orange. Sunnyscopa makes the best decal paper on the planet.

This reminded me of something I've considered doing, but not yet gotten to, is making a decal wrapper for a heavily weathered locomotive. In particular I'm thinking of the B&M's RS3s, where the maroon wore away to expose gold and the gold wore away to expose primer. There are enough photographs that if I had some photoshop or illustrator skills it should be possible. Then just apply a couple giant decals and the locomotive has an authentic worn out look.

Instant weathering -- just add water.  :D

Continuing with the scenery on the upper level going to the track elevator……...

This lower level went way faster than the one up by the backdrop and only took a couple partial days to do but I do have more practice at this point also.

I need to add some rock detail on the top of this section over to the track to break up the flatness of it. Nothing is flat or straight in nature. There is only about 130+ scale feet between the lower and upper level but for some reason it looks more than that.

I’m happy with the lift-out sections and feel that they aren’t too obvious when in place.

More info and images on Railwire ( HERE ) .
