Thank you Spookshow - Mark

Saw an interesting thing pop up on 'that auction site', a particular brass N locomotive that looked quite nice, for what would appear to be a true bargain basement price, a good $500 under what you'd expect.  What's the catch?

"Does not Run".   "Barely creeps"....

OK, well, I've done worse.   I'm the guy that got a 1968 Jamco 4-6-2 to run really well, so.... I don't actually need it, but if I got it running and resold it?  That's a good way to make money.   It's in prime shape externally.    Wonder what's under there?  Time to go into Spookshow.....

OMG.   OMG.  Looked at the basic mechanism design, the comments, the "D" rating, and a 'how to make it run' guide by Max that included pulling and reguaging all the drivers, grinding the frame, and building a new tender pickup system.   Holy crap.  Whoa.   I think I'll pass.  You could never just 'fix it', it would be a major modification rebuild that would be an offset to an original factory model.   Wow.

So thank you Mark, you just saved me a lot of time and a couple bills, and a rather painful thread here on 'what was I thinking, Part II'....
