Played peekaboo with an NS manifest heading out of Vardo across the joint WM PRR overpass at Franklin Street in Hagerstown.

On Monday, I had work down in Lynchburg, and caught this guy heading north, I believe on old Southern Ry trackage at Mountain Pass Road in Troutville, VA.  This crossing is just off US 11.

Rigby always enjoys a little railfanning when we're out and about.

The train had a single pusher, which appears to have been manned.  Nice to see an extra crew getting work.

Finally, the going away shot.

Happy weekending!

I spent this Thursday catching FIVE trains on the NS Buffalo Line.

Here's one of them.

This is one if the engines rebuilt by Brookville a few years ago. While I was not personally involved in the project, it was cool to have those in the shop.

Same here!  I was thinking EL but it may have been an Algoma unit.

The WM unit is sublettered PNLX for Precision National.

I was thinking about you today, @mu26aeh.  I was in Hampstead this morning playing golf, and the CSX Hanover line runs right up against several of the holes.  Saw no trains, though. 😕

Sadly, no weekend trains on pretty much any part of the Hanover Sub unless they are running an extra.  But since CSX reinstated the Emory Grove job out of Baltimore, the southern part of the line has seen an increase in traffic.  Hampstead I think sees the L136 on Tuesday and Thursday, along with the loaded and empty rock runners, which I believe they are now running loads one day, return the next day with empties instead of a daily turn

Yessir! Great town. There's a coffee shop in the station and outdoor seating. The only thing that'd be more perfect was if it all still saw Conrail era levels of traffic.

Another good restaurant is the Front Street Station in Northumberland, just across the river from Sunbury.  Although we haven't been there in a few years, we often saw an NS train either passing through or working the yard.  I suspect there is a lot less traffic now though.
