I reached out to Volkmar and asked to share his email. He said no problem and he’s going to add a contact form to the Shopify so that non-FB users can reach him. In the meantime time this is the email.

volkmar.meier@wanadoo.fr

For the past couple of years, Volkmar has attended a couple of traction related shows here in the states.

Thank you Craig.

And yes, the Shopify site has a header stating "+++ 27th National Model Trolley Meet, Allentown PA, May 15-17, 2025 +++" which probably means that he will be attending that show.

Neat.

Trolleys seems to be his main focus. He has many skus. Somehow he was mentioned in another product review or some such thing and someone saw he had the Reading cars on his site. @CNR5529 alerted me to them. I was very pleased to see them even with the prospect of having to modify them. But Volkmar came through in n a major way with the modifications. So far I’m very pleased and I’d be happy to hear of this forum generating some sales for him. Based on the quality of what I’ve received, he’s someone I’d definitely like to see more from.

Hi,

Thanks to Craig for his gentle review. I am now registered here, but not for promotional and selling, just for modeling. Just to say that I have added a contact form to my Shopify page, and of course you can contact me by Mail. And yes, I will come to the Allentown Traction Meet in May.

My main interest is Traction Modeling, mainly in HO scale, but also in O scale, N scale and (even Z). Making mainline passenger cars in N scale is a byproduct, I started it for my own use due to the lack of commercially available stuff, and ended selling some when modelers discovered what I do...

I will write a longer presentation in the right place in this Forum later. Best regards Volkmar

It should be pointed out that these cars are good starting points for some of the cars on the Chessie steam special.

The AFT versions are now posted.

Nice!  After I ordered a set of 4 cars I exchanged couple emails with Volkmar, and after he sent me some photos of the AFT cars he made, I offered some of my research materials I did on the AFT, and suggested that he offers the 4-car AFT bundle.  I suspect he already had that planned.  These cars are the missing link I needed to get back to my AFT project which has been mothballed for about 10 years.  Not that I'll get right on it, but at least now have 99% of the models I need (and the complete decal set which just begs to be used).

Now I wish I could just find a decent N scale model of the forklift (Jim Will was working on one before his stroke), and also moon rover, the Grasshoper/Arabian locomotive and the old fire engine.  I believe those are the only items I still need to find to finalize the set, but those Reading cars basically complete the rolling stock part of the AFT.

How exciting!!!  I know, I feel the same way about the exReading cars needed for my Royal Hudson consist.

I have received my models of ENDEAVOUR (combine) and BRITANNIA (observation).  They are nicely done.

For those wanting the fifth car for the AFT staff cars or as sold to the BCR, Intermountain offers the correct sleeper car.  It is Centralia Car Shops CCS 6820.  The side skirts need to be removed from the lower car sides between the trucks; otherwise it appears to be correct.

I am very pleased to have these three cars which served as the staff sleeper, staff diner and official car on the BC Provincial Museum Train for its fourth and fifth seasons:

I will cover their modification, assembly and finishing in my thread on the Provincial Museum Train.
