Well. There are bids on all those lots. So they will sell them.
I did win one of those once. Think it was $120 for 55 Conrail Boxcars + the Deluxe Innovations cases they were stored in. Overall not bad. Even though there were a few in there I didn't exactly care for.

The building groups don't make much sense,  but I'm sure some dealers are all over the page looking for lots to win on a low bids and mark up at a show or their own on line auction.

Oh definitely. I don't know who the original owner was of the Conrail Boxes. But all the cars had a green dot and two 1/4oz tire weights added to every car. For about a year afterward I found quite a few pre owned pieces of rolling stock with the same additions. My token Automax Car was from the same place but bought later off Ebay.

Yes, I won 1 lot from them before, 22 LBF 50 and 60' hi cubes in original boxes.  Think I got them for $225 or 250.  I'm shocked they didn't go higher, as they normally go for north of $30 each.

Did anybody else browse the entire offering? I'm totally blown away by the huge collection of O-scale 2-rail brass. This was not a casual modeler collector.

It is like eBay, in that your maximum bid is kept hidden, and automatically advances in increments to beat subsequent bidders.

The one time that I bid on there, the "buyer premium" was like 25%-35% depending on the item.  I can't remember the exact amount but it was something like that.  Plus their shipping was weird.  I had to pay for the items and then they sent a second invoice for shipping.  They did a really good job with packing.

I think they add 19% to the sale price. I've heard that shipping is very high also.
I've been watching the auctions and the final prices paid seems to be much higher than ebay market prices. What might be causing these bidders to pay these high prices?
