   Railroad crossing signs for my N layout were in my stocking.  Sure, they are HO and scarce as hen's teeth but will do nicely until Woodland Scenics decides to make some nice N scale ones.  My old one (lower right in photo) was from an ancient Life Like set with only two crossbucks.  Many rural railroad crossings still use these where automatic gates are not economically feasible.

I didn't get anything train-related for Christmas, but that was by choice. But yesterday I took advantage of the day off the President granted federal employees and chased a southbound double-stack on the BNSF/UP Joint Line from Palmer Lake, CO, to just below the Air Force Academy. The lighting this time of year is brutal though!







And then I put the RGS through its paces. Even broke out the brass.

Mom and wife teamed up to get a brace of gold B23-7s. Slightly out of my time frame but standing in for actual U23Bs.

Nothing model train related as my wife focused on our shared hobbies and I pitched in by guiding her to a couple golf discs I throw that were cool, but my brother got me this set of really nice locomotive bookends and my aunt is renewing my Railfan and Railroad subscription as well as got me some hot cocoa mix in a train tin. All in all it was a very Merry Little Christmas and just what I needed to finish out the year  I hope everyone here had a Merry Christmas as well!

Nothing, as I've asked family not to buy RR related items unless it's cash or gift cards.  Last RR item I received was a Union Pacific PA1/PB1 set, that did not fit road or era I model.

He's coming to town this weekend via a Greenberg show. Hoping to find a dealer to talk DCC starter system with, restock some tools that sadly went missing in the rebuild and all from my 31 month displacement because of the neighbor's fire, and maybe find a deal on a building kit or two or an engine or two.

Judging from your photos, despite the differences in the width of the ties and the spacing between them on the prototype, Kato Concrete Tie Unitrak could seemingly be passed off as contemporary BNSF/Union Pacific mainline trackage.

My wife finally got that one through her parents’ heads by telling them it’s like buying someone the wrong sports team. Given that they lived in New York and I model the Pennsy, it’s like getting broncos gear for a raiders fan.

I did not get anything in the way of trains, however my daughter & family gave me this excellent chrome paint. I can hardly stand to wait to try it out. It is gorgeous stuff.
