Looks promising but from  what I understand about MEMS devices is they will require special  driver/amplifier. The standard audio amplifier on a decoder will not be able to work with that speaker. But maybe they solved that problem too.  Not enough technical info in that article.

Notice that the article says this technology is for "near-field" use - e.g., earbuds, VR glasses (where it would be mounted near the ear), etc.  Near-field speakers would not be appropriate for sound installations in locomotives.  This isn't a near-field application.
