Yeah what's with the skipping even numbered decades?  You can get a finished 1954, 1973 or 1997 ford pickup.  But you can't get a 1960s, 1980s or 2000s one.

It’d be interesting to know what the royalty agreement is, because I think the retail cost of these is absolutely absurd.

More MadAboutCars pickups are available from Showcase Miniatures!  Here is the quote from the email announcement:

"Madaboutcars is back with a new lineup of N Scale vehicles.  This time Jens has built a series of 1990 - '98 Silverado Pickups.  Two Regular Cab versions, two Extended Cab versions and two Crew Cab versions - take your pick using the drop-down menu on the webpage.  Jens is constantly (and pretty amazingly) working on new products... stay tuned..."

But with Shapeways we had less middle man pricing, could request affordable multiple packs from Jens to fill an autorack, and I could fill a parking lot with individual models from the 60s and 70s right now. I like Showcase and am not wishing ill on it, and am hoping the loss of Shapeways turns into a benefit, but this is not what I was thinking of. Showcase was smart to strike this deal, but I hope Jens is not mired in it permanently or Showcase rethinks its pricing and release schedule.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

It looks as though they’ve lowered the price some.

Yeah, these Ford pickups look hawt! $12 seems very reasonable to me, although I guess there's no preformed windows for these.

Showcase announced three more "MAC" Ford pickups today.  Here is a copy of the announcement:

"Madaboutcars is back with a new lineup of trucks.  This time Jens has built a series of 1966 F Series Pickups - take your pick from several different versions using the drop-down menu on the webpage.  Also on our website is a link to his catalog of products.  Check it out and let us know which ones you would like to see produced".

And here is the link:

P.S.  The pickups are also available in HO and Z scales.

Here are some photos of the SM MAC N scale 1982-1986 Ford F150 versus the Atlas N scale 1973 Ford F100.  The SM truck is the same length and width as the Atlas model.  These are really well done and worth the price charged.  I highly recommend them.  In addition, Debbie and Walter are a first class act to do business with.  I am looking forward the any new models they release that fit my chosen era.  Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I just want to give a huge shout-out to Showcase Minitures. I recently ordered a couple of the 'MadAboutCars' mid 60's pickup trucks. They arrived today and when I opened the package I fould that one of them was damaged. I immediately email Showcase about the issue with a photo of the damaged item. In less than an hour I received a reply from Debbie Vail, at Showcase, appologizing for the damage and to let me know they were sending out a replacement.

Huge kudos to Showcase, and Debbie, for what I consider to be world-class customer service.

Oh, and I'm very impressed with the print quality of these trucks. Far superior to the quality of the few MAC cars I bought previously from Shapeways. I'm now very much looking forward to future Showcase MAC offerings. As I think Jens has the best sellection of 60's era vehicles.

Showcase Miniatures is a gem among model railroading companies, and I'm thankful to have them doing great things for our hobby.   They always go above and beyond.

Today's announcement (January 10, 2025) is for '66 "D" series pickups.

And what is a remarkable coincidence, I saw a 1965-67 Dodge pickup that was restored and operating on an Idaho state highway earlier this week!

Another email this morning (August 15) from Showcase Miniatures includes 8 new N scale semi-tractor cabs from MadAboutCars.  https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/madaboutcars/n_scale/Cabs/

Showcase Miniatures offer semi-tractor wheels, mirrors, exhaust pipes, 5th wheel plates, bull bars, headache racks and mudflaps under their N Scale Vehicle Details. https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/n_scale/n_scale_vehicle_details/

So, all the modeler needs to do is fabricate a frame/chassis, which can be done with Evergreen styrene strips.
