I hate these kinds of threads, as the mfgs have filled most of my wants, as I am in the "close enough" type of modeler category and model a well reresented era, circa 1999.  But for me, things that would fill a "want" void in my layout.....

1) C424 in Belt Railway of Chicago
2) All future rolling stock (and structures) be similar to Athearn's "Primed for Grime" (Hey, maybe even track) or in patch job or reporting marks only schemes.
3) ......All I can think of for the moment.

@bbussey, I can help with the slab side hopper. This was one of my CP fleet projects a number of years ago and I created a resin kit for the riveted side version with either the 6 square/rectangular hatch or 8 round hatch options. I can resurrect this if you’re interested…

I actually have two of your slab side kits, I just haven't built them yet.  One will be CN and the other will be TH&B.  On the large pile of to-do's.

Of course, IMRC has cancelled the last couple of production runs, but they are available in the secondary market, in both RTR and kit versions.

I'd be in for a couple of the mini-boxes myself.

And the last iteration of the IMRC 8k tankcar is an excellent model.  Metal handrails, body-mounted couplers, metal wheels.  Though I was fortunate to snag two UTLX, I wish overall demand had been enough for IMRC to continue with additional releases.

I actually had @Jesse6669 make Vera Sun decals, so I'd love Trinity 6351s to put them on. I'm going to settle for a foobie in the meantime.

I've been wanting Thrall 5150/5400 cubic feet covered hoppers for years. I'd love to know if these are anywhere on anybody's radar. Central Soya, CEFX leasers, and Crandic among others could be candidates if they were ever bought to production.

I agree that N scale is well supplied with ACF Center Flows, but there is one exception.  We really need an early-production 4650!  MT and IM both make the later 4650, without the horizontal rib, and Athearn has a very nice early 4600 from the same era, but western roads bought a lot of early 4650s for grain service.

I'm mostly good with freight cars, Rapido having done the Procor 5820 and Prairie Shadows the 3800cf cylindrical filling two big gaps in my world. However, there are two LPG tankcars that I believe were fairly common (or at least seen outside of Canada) on North American rails that would suit me just fine.

I'd be happy as a lark in a meadow if Rapido did the Canadian piggy back flats in N scale, but probably not likely if they're not selling well in HO.

Here’s some things I’d like to see:

1. CSX’s 2011/2012 built Freightcar America Bethgons in the white end scheme when Athearn announces their newly-tooled Bethgon.

2. A Trinity RDL. This very distinct car is pretty common in modern utility coal trains.

3. The Freightcar America Triple Hopper. NS and CSX have thousands of these, so I’d like to see an actual prototypical model instead of the Atlas and Micro Trains stand-ins.

4. Atlas to scale down their AAR Triple to N Scale with the same quality as their PS-3’s.

5. More Autoflood III’s from Rapido.

...And for Tangent to remember N Scale. I’d love to see their new BSC Eastern Quad Hopper in N Scale, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Modeling transition era B&O steam remains problematic, simply because the B&O put their headlights above the smokebox door, not in the middle. So 99% of all N scale steam in the transition era has the headlight in the wrong place - for B&O modelers. So my wish is for quality B&O steam that has the headlight in the correct location....

If that wish is not granted, maybe my fallback wish might be the hopes that somebody might 3d print headlight adapters (to move the headlight to the top of the smokebox) for a lot of the decent transition era steam that is already out there, like Mikes, Mountains etc.
