My mother pulled one of her miracles by getting me 3 tickets to see the AFT in the old Jersey Central yard in Bradley Beach NJ. There is a commemerative marker there now. I was impressed...

Jeez, restore it already. How can they leave it in that condition?

If I were a betting man, I'd say that funding levels play a role in that.

I think it has more to do with the fact that there are plenty of other very significant pieces in their collection that have been more deserving.

Yes, this thing toured half the country, but some of that 19th century stuff is true 1 of 1 stuff and is incredibly underrepresented in other museums. Meanwhile, there's a Reading T Hog running a few hours away and another in progress a few hours in the other direction.

I'm glad they're doing this so we can stop hearing Ross "No Girls Allowed" Rowland complaining about it.

Yep, unfortunately museums don't have unlimited funding no matter how many millionaires, billionaires, trillionaires and zillionaires there are in the world. It would be nice if they could restore everything and run it on the mainline but sooner or later the cost of restoring all them old trains would start to eat into the beer money and that ain't good.

At least stripping de-rusting and repainting would not be that expensive, relatively.

Sorry if it was already mentioned. But this loco is going to a round house in Cleveland to get rebuilt.

Was at Saturday's night event when announced . As many of you know, 2100 is being worked on at the Clark Ave roundhouse in Cleveland. Didn't want to say anything until ASR officially sent out announcement.Admission to roundhouse is for members of MRPS or ASR  or ticket holders for open house events.

Wait, so the B&O museum is shipping it to Ohio instead of doing it in house?

Or was the one in Ohio that ASR has going to get foobed up to be AFT 1?

I'm confused.
