Nope no 3D at all on this one. The walls started as plain sheet styrene. Dragged a blade backwards to cut the board gaps. Used 60 grit sandpaper to add the wood grain.

:o  Good ol’ fashioned modeling.  Love it!

Well I did tape that CAD printout onto the styrene to guide my knife.  :P

Nice work brother I was hoping you started doing 3d textures! Next time maybe. Beautiful building.

Late to this, maybe this was mentioned upthread, but for Android phones the feature to unskew a picture is built into the camera app.  Make sure 'Scene Optimizer' is turned on in Camera Settings.  The screen will pop up an icon if it sees something it thinks is a piece of paper.  Click that to get into the scan feature.

Impressive piece of work.  Also late to the party.
But unless you're trying to fit a particular piece of furniture into a room, there's no need to be any more precise than you were.
It looks fantastic.

I've got to spend more time at my workbench on stuff like that.  But for now there are too many 1:1 projects

That looks really awesome Chris!! I guess I have never heard of scratch building with this type of technology. Very awesome!! Is it easy to do? I know you posted this several months ago but I thought I would chime in. Thanks Scott

Thanks. The only real "technology" here is the photo. I had no set of plans for this building so I de-skewed a photo to trace over it:

After that I just transferred my sketch to styrene.

That's awesome!! I just asked you the same question on another post, sorry about that. I did not see that you replied here. I will get the hang of this eventually.

So is this a step backwards?  :P

I took my scratch built model and popped it in the flatbed scanner. Then just traced over it.

Not at all.  Especially if you need multiple copies of it, making a "master" and tracing it would probably be a good idea.

Not complete till you add the incredible rotted wood effect to the 3d.  Been seeing some $300 hand scanners that might work well for scanning your model to get the wood efrect.

I wouldn't know what to do with the file.
