DIGITRAX DS64 and DS74

Hi
Anybody knows if they are compatible , I own many DS64 , some are link together like to control an 8 tracks yard , I programmed them and if I want to go to a certain track  , I just dial the track number and all turnouts align one after the other .
Now one of my DS64 stopped working and DIGITRAX don't want to repair it saying it's too old do you know if I can replace it with a DS74 ??
Trying to get an answer from them is an adventure .....
Thanks ,
Louis

Louis --- did you try to reset the device back to factory .. the sometimes loose their minds when there are troubles on the network

The DS64 is reset using Option Switch 7 (OpSw7). If you have tried resetting the DS64 by closing Option Switch 7 and that has not worked for you, please try resetting the Digitrax system (DCS50/51, DB150 or DCS100/200) by closing Option Switch 39. To reset DCS52, DCS210 or DCS240 close Option Switch 40.Jan 10, 2012

If you have JMRI, it's pretty easy

Thanks for your answer ,
But if I reset the system I will loose all lash up .... there is many trains in different yards consisting of up to 6 locos per train ...

And it's possible that only one DS64 lost his mind in the DCS100 ?
I have about 6 x DS64 on the layout and 4 have a programmation for routing , and it's one of these that lost his memory .

Will try again OpSw7 , will see !
Thanks ,
Louis

No. Disconnect the offending ds64 from locomet.  Plug in the throttle and you can reset it.

If you decide to reset the dcs100. Disconnect it from the loconet as well and use the throttle.

I have had several DS64's go bad over the last 3 years. My n scale layout has 18 turnouts, and DS74's were suggested to me as well. However I found it much cheaper to go with DS52's instead. You can program 2 turnouts with each (in my case all Kato) and they are much less than half the cost of a DS74. For about the same price as a DS74 I can get 3 DS52's, good for 6 turnouts. And not a single one has failed in almost 2 years in my unheated garage.
