Substitute For N Scale John Deere Tractors

My wife found these on line and they are perfect for my Deere dealership on the layout. I saw
on Pic Click someone wanting $65 for 3 of the Athearn N Scale John Deere tractors (now 55 that were 8.99).
These are a few bucks and you cut off the key chains and they look great. I had two keychain tractors from my stash
that I added and two more are coming from Amazon. The yellow loader is new for Father's Day.

I've seen these in the farm and fleet stores... definitely makes modeling this more affordable.

It turns out you can get black confetti in the shape of d'cks...

Huh, I’ll have to check the swag shop next time I’m at their Waterloo plant. What series are those, I can probably tell you some of the hydraulic parts on them  :D

You can find 1:160 scale JD tractors at DM Toys.

https://www.dm-toys.de/en/product-details/Wiking_095837.html

https://www.dm-toys.de/en/product-details/Wiking_095838.html

Only a few of the key chain models come close to 1:160 scale.  The loader and forks can be easily removed from the Wiking tractors if you don't want them.

Chuck,

Where did you find this key chain?  The loader looks much better than most key chain models.

I think that's a photo shop.. It looks like Chuck has the keychain version on the right in the first photo..

It looks a bit smaller than 1:160  (Or the Deere tractor is larger than 1:160)

Ian,

The John Deere loader in Chuck's photo is an Ertl/Tomy key chain model that is very close to 1:160.  You can find a comparison photo of one with other 1:160 scale loaders in this thread.  You will need to scroll down to the 4th message.

https://groups.io/g/NScaleVehicleAssociation/topic/diecast_masters_revives/88342061?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate/sticky,,,20,2,40,88342061,previd%3D1643906550152449763,nextid%3D1626409766322552342&previd=1643906550152449763&nextid=1626409766322552342

The Deere tractors in the photo are as Bryan noted quite big, one would need a ladder to get into the cab.   ;)

You are correct, the green tractor and front loader.

Duly noted on the 8R 410 model keychain, they are bigger. Surround them with other closer to scale units and they don't
look so bad. I bought them for a flatcar load in 2017.
