Trouble Plotting My CadRail Design

I am trying to produce a PDF file so I can take it to FE Kinkos and get it plotted on their 36 plotter. I have done this hundreds of times with Adobe AI and other programs to print my RC Giant Scale plans. CadRail does not make this seemingly possible. I did reach out to Sandia, but the advice I got does not matchup with what windows will actually do. No matter what I setup in the printer driver for paper sizes, CadRail only displays Letter size in Portrait.

Exploring other printer drivers through CadRail, neither MS Adobe PDF or XPS drivers allow for custom sized paper where I set a 144x36 sheet. I downloaded and installed the HP T630 plotter driver specifically to print to file, created a custom sheet and CarRail just ignored the printer driver setup and only allowed Letter/Portrait.

Has anyone had success in large format plotting from CadRail ??

Does the software have a File>Page Setup menu? It may be that you must change the format there before trying to print.

Not sure I understand, probably missing something.  You have the pdf, right?

Do you want to print it yourself, tile it and tape the pages together?  Or do you want to take it to Kinkos and have them print it on their device?  Surely Kinkos has a way to print any PDF to any size you want.  Drivers are for devices on your network.

So it outputs a PDF that is fully vector? Could you use DXF as an alternative?

The PDF driver only gives you standard sheet sizes. Yes, I can about a hundred pages and tape them together, but that method does induce slight alignment issues after a few pages.

I tried the DXF export and tried to open it with Adobe AI CS6 and it rejected to format. Tried exporting to bitmap, too big.

There is no page setup that controls output. The software relies on the print drivers for that. That is why I downloaded and installed the HP Plotter driver. It was easy to tell the driver I wanted an 11ft x 3ft drawing. CADRail just ignored the driver.

Any chance you have a different program that can handle dxf? I can give it a try in Fusion 360 if you’d like.  Regarding the pdf, is it possible to output the whole layout onto a single sheet of 8x11 as a vector and resize as appropriate?
