ScaleTrains Gunderson 5188cf Item Number not as described

Every time I (pre)order from @scaletrains I say a little prayer that something is not wrong in the order. As my luck seems to always have something messed up.

Back in Jan when the preorders went out for the Gunderson 5188cf Hoppers, it included a second number for a Santa Fe legacy hopper, BNSF 486059. Original run had BNSF 485171 which was a "Ribbed" version.

Got my 5 preordered cars today which also included the other two legacy hoppers (GN and FW&D) they were offering with this run. Heck, I went and made sure the email for the preorders were wrong. But top item listed is the Santa Fe hopper.

Well the SXT33227 was item number for BNSF 486059, but what was delivered is a BNSF 486511 in Oxide Red/Wedge scheme.

Anyone else have this same issue?

Agreed they are very responsive.

I doubt it is a "bait and switch".  The probability of nefarious intent seems very low.

Much more likely, a mistake.

SKT33227 still shows as available on their website as  write this ( SXT33227    486059- Santa Fe    $32.99   In Stock ),  so if it were me, I would email them now and follow up with a phone call and another email on Tuesday (might try Monday, but it will be Labor Day), and let them know that you did not receive what you expected.

And you might consider changing the subject line to something like "error on order" from "bait and switch."

They are good on fixing shipping mistakes and replacing damaged product.

Yes guys I emailed them, that was the first thing I did after realizing that what the item on the box, listed on the website, on my upcoming payment was no what it was shown to be.

It’s not a shipping mistake. It is the item number I ordered, as the website order page shows. It’s not what is on the end of the box or the actual car.

All I asked is if anyone else ordered the same item number but not what was delivered
